Introduced in 1984, the W124 became one of Mercedes-Benz’s most celebrated model generations, renowned for its build quality, durability, safety and understated design. The 230 E was a popular petrol-powered sedan in the range and is part of the direct lineage of today’s E-Class. The E-Class name itself was not officially introduced to the W124 range until 1993.
