This hand-assembled precision metal model consisting of more than 1, 050 parts representing exceptional craftsmanship with a finely detailed leather and chrome-trimmed interior, folding seats, movable sun visors, an opening dashboard ashtray, removable hubcaps, and retractable door handles, making it a remarkable collector's piece.
History (Original Vehicle):
The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster (W198 II), introduced in 1957, succeeded the iconic Gullwing following strong market demand led by U. S. importer Max Hoffman. Produced until 1963 with only 1, 858 examples, it was celebrated as one of the fastest production sports cars of its era, combining timeless design with groundbreaking innovations such as gasoline direct injection, dry-sump lubrication, power-assisted brakes, four-wheel disc brakes, and optional seat belts.
