Introduced in 1955, the 190 SL was conceived as a more accessible and comfortable companion to the legendary 300 SL. Its styling was strongly inspired by the 300 SL, while offering relaxed open-top touring. The 190 SL became an important foundation of Mercedes-Benz’s SL roadster tradition, with 25, 881 examples produced through 1963.
